A little help and a little giveaway

So you've suffered through my vacation "slides" and wondered, what's in this for me? Well I'll tell you. I picked up these cute luggage tags the other day at the Hobby Lobby. I intended to use them for my own luggage, but decided it might be more fun to share. So I'm giving these sweet little birdies (there are two tags in the package) away to one lucky commenter. I just know my $2 tags will make your Summer Vacationing that much better. If you want to be entered into this little giveaway you need to leave a comment with two things:

1). Tell me about a trip you have planned for this summer (or if you don't have any trips planned you could tell me about a vacation you've been dreaming of taking).

AND

2). Recommend a good summer read. I'm looking for some good books to read this Summer and take on my next trip, and I have nothing in mind. I've looked at Costco and hate to buy something without a recommendation, so I'm looking to you for suggestions.

Leave your trips and book ideas in the comments section to be entered for this giveaway. I'll leave it open until Thursday morning (10ish M.S.T.) May 28th when I'll announce the winner (I'll choose one winner with the whole random integer thing provided I can figure it out again). That gives you three whole days to come up with a book idea for me, and to make me jealous with your fabulous vacations. Good luck!

***Extended timeline, I will announce a winner on Sunday, sometime...so keep commenting!***

You don't have to include me in the drawing, I'd rather one of your friends win. But you know I love the books written by Anne Perry. I don't know if you have read them. But there is a series about a nurse named Hester Latterly and other characters and a series about Charlotte and her husband Inspector Pitt. Right now I'm reading a spanish translation of one of the Hester Latterly ones. They are all set in Victorian England and I enjoy all of them. They come in paperback and in tapes and CD's from the library.

I am going nowhere soon, but I sit here everyday and dream about traveling. Our ten year is next year like yours and we want to go to Hawaii. I have never been there and would love to go lie on the beach. With twins coming we probably won't be going until our 20th but one can dream right? Right now I am reading "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Picoult. It will be a movie soon, but I heard that the book was good. It is an easy summer read. I am also reading "The Kite Runner" and "The Lovely Bones". I have a lot of time on my hands. I hope to use those luggage tags next summer!
I also need to order some of your cute stuff for my babies. Burp cloths and stuff. Let me know how. I hope you get to travel somewhere:)

Those luggage tags are really cute and would be GREAT for me to use when we go to Myrtle Beach....my parents have a condo and so we all get together and spend time relaxing on the beach, etc.

As far as good reads go right now I'm reading Nicholas Sparks book The Choice, which is really good and can't go wrong with him. However, I'm also interested in seeing what everyone else says since I'm always interested in good books too!

Thanks for the opportunity!

Hello dear Nancy-
1. I'm spending 3 weeks in Oregon in July. It's a little fun and a little work trip. I'll love the green, cool and fresh fruit.
2. Don't be put off by a churchie book...highly recommend God Wants A Powerful People by Sheri Dew.

Thanks Pam for the books you listed. They've peeked my interest. Happy day all.

P.S. when I'm in Oregon in August we hit up Burgerville and the black berry shakes. One almost could make a case for getting up to Oregon monthly just to try the new shake flavor. :)

Craig is taking me on a cruise to Alaska for our anniversary! We leave on June 5th, so you better get the tags in the mail ASAP! I have always wanted to go there. Other than our little trip to UT, in which your hospitality was greatly appreciated, I haven't been anywhere in 1 1/2 yr. I was in school, and then every time I turned around I was getting those little kid germs and getting sick. So, I deserve this trip, and some R&R.
As for summer reading, anything by Nicholas Sparks is a great read. He wrote "The Notebook", and I am now reading "The Divide".
Love you, Jill

hey nancy,

adorable tags.

1. we're going to mission beach san diego in a week 1/2. can't wait. cohen may still be a sand-hater, so that may not be too fun. but i'm hoping he's over it.

2. i'm ashamed to say i don't do much reading - other than to my kiddos. my favorite children's picture books (that always makes me smile) are "julius, baby of the world" by kevin henkes and "the quiltmaker's gift" by jeff brumbeau. the first is hysterical and the last is such a sweet story and has amazing illustrations.

hoping you're doing wonderfully!
