I've got some Halloween Scrabble tile necklaces to giveaway. We'll make it quick so you can get to wearing it before it's Christmas. Just leave a comment below answering my Halloween question. Don't be shy, I love hearing from everyone, but only enter once. You have until Thursday (Oct. 9) morning at 10:00 a.m. PST when I'll announce one winner.

Halloween Question: What was your most memorable Halloween costume as a kid? (Mine was Holly Hobbie).
And for those of you who don't win the giveaway, try consoling yourself in some Slow Churned Pumpkin ice cream. Believe me, you'll be glad you did.

I don't want to hog all your giveaways, so don't count this as an official entry, but I just thought I'd share my most memorable costume. I once was a fried egg. My mom and I made the costume out of a hula hoop and yellow and white felt. It was cute but a real pain to trick-or-treat in!

Well I do want to be counted. You make such adorable goodies. My favorite costume was the ballerina. Easy since I was taking ballet lessons and had all the gear. I still have my small, pink satin ballet slippers. Wait, that's a good idea I can blog about. :) Happy day Nancy.

I was a witch a lot. So needless to say I remember it the best.

I'm not sure any of my costumes were too memorable - I can remember being a jailbird one year but we couldn't find any thick black and white striped material so mine was a thin blue and white stripe.

The one that sticks out to me is Minnie Mouse. I just know that my parents have a picture of me in that costume and I was rather adorable.
LOVE the tiles.

Fav costume? 4th grade when I invented my own "ghoul" outfit. Black tights, and long sleeved leotard drapped in a white shredded sheet. I punked my hair out and wore dark black eye make-up. I felt completely original!
p.s. necklace charms are adorable! Favs are the witch and the skull/crossbones

I liked this costume that I reused it several years! I was Pippy Longstocking, and braided my hair on a wire hanger so I stuck straight out on both sides of my head! Pippy was well known in the 80's, doubt anyone would know who she is these days! :) Totally love the charms!

The Halloween that changed my life and ruined all other Halloweens, although this year I am determined to get over it. I was 14 and my mom made us all (herself, me and my three sisters) princess Jasmine costumes. Then she made my dad an Aladdin costume and my brother was the Genie. We actually went out in public. We had a boom box (remember those)playing the movie soud track and visited my dad's office banging pots and pans. Then we had to do the same at the ward halloween party and my sisters school carnival. About that time I had had enough, felt humiliated, threw a royal tantrum and was sent to the car. I still want to cry when I think about it. 14 was a hard age for me. Like I said, I'm trying to get over it this year. We're being the Von Trap family with our authentic European clothes.

Oops, maybe you meant memorable, like in a good way. Sorry.

Raggedy Ann, or maybe Pippi Long-Stocking...I made a good character with red hair and freckles! Love the Halloween charms and I can't wait to try the ice cream! I am going to call you...I just found great Halloween beads that would be so cute with your charm!!

My most memorable was being a clown...just the experience of wearing the wig, make-up & outfit was special versus throwing a random outfit together.

Just so you know, I found your blog through Five Under five's Blog, but hers was just stumbled upon in my quest for reading different mom's blog that stay-at-home like me.

Thanks for the opportunity!

you know my mom- I had LOTS of great costumes. Most memorable was the Greek Goddess Medusa- snakes in the hair and all.
If I win- you can send it to my mom, if I don't I'll have her grab some of that pumpkin ice cream and have it in the freezer for us at Christmas time.
cute necklaces!
as for ideas for your kids- my mind is spinning with lots. Oh and I need to respond to your email.

I had so much fun as a kid and I loved a lot of my costumes, but my very favorite was the year that I was a green M&M. I loved it and my mom made it and I remember being so proud to tell my friends that she had made it. I love those cute tiles. you are so amazing Nanc

Such cute necklaces! MarySue and I want a tutorial on how to make them.

Never really mattered what our costumes were... it was usually so cold we had to wear winter coats to go Trick-or-Treating. But we always carried a pillow case to collect the goodies!

Hey! I enjoy reading your blog and couldn't resist entering your cute giveaway :) My most memorable Halloween was when I was a witch and my grandma painted my face green - I looked in the mirror and started crying b/c I didn't want to be an UGLY witch! :)

When you left here you only had a few Halloween tiles. You must have made more. They are all really cute. I have enjoyed wearing the ones we made together, somebody always asks about them. You don't have to put me in the draw. The halloween costume that was the most fun to make was one that I made for Stephen in elementary school. It was a kind of black jump suit and then with white paint, I painted on the major bones for him to be a skeleton.
