Poncho Not So

Earlier in the week I made my kids "pigs in a blanket" for dinner. They went over fairly well with 3/4 of my family. So I took inspiration from that for tonight's dinner which I named "Mexico in a blanket." It went over fairly well with 0% of my family. I can no longer be trusted with crescent rolls...

So you see I had leftover mexican rice and beans, then I cooked up some ground beef and onion, seasoned with taco seasoning, added some corn and diced tomatoes, layered it all onto some crescent roll dough, put shredded cheese on top, bundled it up and cooked it in the oven. So me and Travis ate it, but it was pretty gross. I remembered a similar thing at a pampered chef demonstration I went to like 15 years ago, mine didn't work out so well. The kids wouldn't even touch it and Travis just gave me a funny look. But he ate two of them... and he did the dishes after.

It is rather disappointing when we have this great vision in our heads of something that sounds wonderful. And then it doesn't turn out quite like we immagined. When that happens to me, I decide later that I should have thought about it a little longer and hoped for a little more inspiration before implementing the plan. Better luck next time!
