By now many of you in the blogging world may or may not have heard about the tragic private plane crash involving fellow blogger Stephanie Nielson and her husband Christian. Stephanie and Christian, parents to four small children, survived the crash, but are both in medically induced commas due to severe burns. I don't know Stephanie or Christian personally, but have my own family members who are connected to and know her; and I have been a lurker on her blog (NieNie dialogues) for the past few years. I have always been in awe of this beautiful woman. Stephanie to me exemplifies the Thirteenth Article of Faith:
We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.
I've always loved Stephanie's blog because she is all of these things; honest about her life and love for her family, true to her beliefs and convictions, good and kind to her children, and I believe and hope that Stephanie will pull through this if that is what our Father in Heaven wants for her and her family. If anyone is going to be asked to "endure all things" in this life it will be Stephanie and Christian. So my other friend Stephanie W. (confusing I know) and I are joining the ranks of bloggers hosting auctions to benefit the NieNie fund. All proceeds from this auction will go directly to help Stephanie and Christian in their recovery.
Stephanie's sister Courtney updates daily on her condition and provides strength through her writing to everyone affected by this tragedy.
My friend Stephanie W. and I want to help in the efforts to raise money for Stephanie and Christian Nielson so we are hosting an auction here on my blog. The auction will begin now and go through this Sunday, August 31 at 10:00 p.m. (Mountain Standard Time I will be in UT) I had such a great response to the last bag I showed that I decided to do another one just like it to auction for NieNie. And Stephanie W. is offering a beautiful sterling silver locket.
In order to bid on the bag or necklace read through the comments to see where the bidding has left off, and then leave your own comment specifying which item you are placing your bid on. I also have a special giveaway for all of the bidders, all you have to do to enter the giveaway is bid on either of our items. At the end of the auction I will hold a drawing to giveaway this reversible Halloween and Thanksgiving decorative bunting. So please do not bid on the bunting.
Thanks for your generosity and please don't make my husband buy this bag, it won't go with his outfit, I guarantee it! There are countless other blogs all over the Internet holding auctions to benefit NieNie, check out Design Mom, One More Moore, Orange You Glad, Tangled and True (my cute sis Katie has shoes and a sling up for bid!), and the NieNie Benefit Blog for more information. Also my sister Angela is auctioning jewelry here. Pass the word along and feel free to link to this auction!
This bag measures 14 inches by 10 inches, it's handmade and has two pockets on the inside.
This necklace has a double sided locket that is easily filled with your favorite picture, paper or fabric, it's made of sterling silver and comes with a handmade lampwork bead pendant and sterling silver 16 inch chain.
Thanks for visiting our auction, we hope to do more like this in the near future!
Sincerely, Stephanie W. and Nancy
